Periods and filters
Every figure on the Dashboard depends on a period. A single period selector governs the whole board: when you change it, all cards move at once to the same date range. There's no need to adjust each widget separately.
Available periods
The selector offers the ranges common to Spanish accounting:
- This month — the current calendar month.
- Year to date — from 1 January to today, useful for the running total of the financial year.
- Quarter — a calendar quarter, which is the unit for VAT models and other periodic deadlines.
- Custom range — a date interval you define yourself, from start to end.
How it affects each card
The period filters the activity figures, calculated on an accrual (devengo) basis:
- Sales, Expenses, Result and Margin are recomputed for the chosen interval.
- The summary widgets (upcoming taxes, pending reconciliation) adjust to the same time context.
The treasury balance is a snapshot of the money you have now, not a period total. So the period selector affects the activity KPIs, while your accounts' current balance always reads as the present state. Review the difference in KPIs and widgets.
What it's for
- Closing a quarter: set the selector to the quarter and compare Sales, Expenses and Result with what you'll report on Modelo 303 and the other models.
- Tracking the year: use "year to date" to see the annual running total without closing months by hand.
- Ad-hoc analysis: with the custom range, isolate a campaign, a project or a specific month.
Relation to customization
The period and the board layout are independent settings. You can change the period as often as you like without touching which widgets you have; and you can customize the board without changing the selected period.
