Connect your bank (PSD2)

Aikount connects to your bank through open banking (PSD2), using regulated gateways. Once the account is connected, movements flow in on their own: you don't have to download statements or upload files by hand.

How the connection works

The connection is never made directly from Aikount to your bank, but through a regulated, authorized aggregation provider:

  • Ponto Connect
  • Salt Edge
  • GoCardless

You pick your bank, authenticate in the bank's or the provider's own environment (not in Aikount) and authorize read-only access. From there, the gateway sends your movements to Aikount periodically.

Security. Access is read-only: Aikount cannot move money or order payments. We never see or store your bank username and password — the credentials stay with the regulated provider. You authorize the connection and can revoke it whenever you want. Hosting is European (GDPR).

What flows into Aikount

When the account is connected, a treasury is created with:

  • The account's up-to-date balance.
  • The movement history (debits and credits).

New movements keep arriving on their own, with no manual work.

After connecting

With movements already in, the natural flow is:

  1. Review the connected accounts in Treasuries and balances.
  2. Browse and filter the entries in Bank movements.
  3. Let Aikount link each movement to its invoice or expense in How reconciliation works.

Revoking access

You can withdraw the authorization at any time, either from your bank or from the provider. Once revoked, no new movements come in; the ones already imported stay in your accounting.

Besides your bank, you can also connect Stripe and PayPal as treasuries.
